17 people have reportedly lost their lives following a fire outbreak at a New Delhi hotel. A senior police officer has confirmed that a child and 16 others, including a woman, died in the fire. Fire Chief Officer G.C. Mishra said many died from suffocation adding that the death toll could rise. Members of a family reportedly booked about 35 rooms in the hotel. They are said to have come into town for an event.
